#NewStoryWV is a collaborative effort to rewrite the story of West Virginia. Any West Virginian can get started writing #NewStoryWV today.

1. Use the hashtag

When you’re posting on social media about ways that you’re working to make a difference in your community, include the hashtag #NewStoryWV.

When you see others working to make a difference in your community, post about their good work on social media and include the hashtag #NewStoryWV.

2. Sign the pact

Show your commitment to change the negative narratives about West Virginia. All Pact Signers are sent tips on how to get started writing #NewStoryWV; Official Author Badges; and the #NewStoryWV Toolkit with how-to guides to better tell the story of their work.

3. Start a #NewStoryWV campaign in your community.

Whether you’re interested in building up community pride, looking for new ways to share online about the work you’re doing in your community, or hoping to get new people engaged in your work, starting a #NewStoryWV campaign that is focused on your community is a new tool to help you reach your goals.
